I feel a connection of city life, a city whose beauty strikes us at every corner, with its elegant architecture, iconic monuments, and the subtle combination of art, history and nature, standing above the city is the most romantic of places, the Eiffel Tower. With its glittering lights illuminating the birth of evening, couples share romantic moments, wedding engagements and honeymoons, that create memories that will last an eternity.
I painted in layers until I sensed the desired atmosphere. Starting with pale tones in the distance and building up to darker tones in the foreground creates a feeling of depth. The textured application forms a cityscape that is abstracted by energetic paint drips and the depiction of buildings as block shapes and gestural lines.
